Here to put a spring in your step

This one is fresh off the bat. In trying to hit a deadline late this week, I honed in on Ibiza Sonica Radio for a lift and immediately came across an intoxicating dance number.
This remix came out in 2022, jazzed up from a mid 1980s track from cult Argentinian band Los Abuelos De La Nada (Grandparents of Nothingness).
This gloriously uplifting remix was recorded in Ibiza and it sure has plenty of Balearic rhythm to it. Enjoy (and also check out the original live version from an 80s show, which has some classic sax come the finale).
Spring is here…
Between - Vraell
This classically trained London-based musician has been around since 2019 and released this basement version of his classic Between. The drums kick in is quite something.
If you like that check out: Ceili - Mermaid Chunky
In another job
… I would have tried my luck as a cinema soundtrack compiler. That would be a pretty cool day job. This was a recent discussion at a dinner party, which included a Music Dr reader.
I would have most certainly place this track, Kamakumba’s Mop Mop, in a thriller where the main protagonist is on a Caribbean beach late in the day. At any rate, it’s a killer track for film.
The live version is well worth a watch from a Berlin gig a few years back.
Indie Classic
This one is new to me, although the Melbourne trio released it in 2017.
French Press - Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever
Electronic single of the month
There 4 u - 1-800 Girls
It's getting a lot of airtime on 6 music...
If you like this check out this selection trio:
I Let Go - HNNY
Untitled A1 - SW.
I Need You - Baril
And finally..
Spring into summer
This is a gem of a track, adapted from one of Rob da Bank’s early Sunday Best compilations. It is 25 years since a small electronic festival took place at Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire - and this one is a standout memory from those hazy three days.
A chill out track to savour...
