From being discovered and signed at 17, reportedly into a bad record deal, to opening for Lenny Kravitz on his Euro tour in 2019, was perhaps too much too soon for this Nigerian-American, folksy singer-songwriter.

She's been releasing and making music ever since and she comes to the fore here in some style with this latest, mesmeric single Villain.

This track simply sores with her vocals leading over the melodic instruments. Staggering stuff. Listen on Spotify

I switched on Pete Tong's Essential Tunes in the car before midnight on Saturday and this banger came on as I arrived home. I wondered where this was going before the vocals kicked in. It was four minutes well spent sitting in the car.
